The Heidelberg Project Chatbot

1Persona:
My process began with user persona research, defining my audience and getting more insight about who I was making this app for and why. This step helped me understand what I needed to focus on when it came to making a mobile experience regarding volunteering.

2Journey Map:
I researched The Heidelberg Project’s site in-depth and discovered things that were missing or didn’t work, such as the email forum. To volunteer for this organization you need to type in your email and expect a response, but often than not, emails get lost all the time in spam and the user does not know when they will receive the email. From here, I created a journey map to find a solution to this issue.

Wireframe + Prototype:
My idea was to create a chat bot that replies instantly, could answer any question and give out any information. I thought it was crucial for the user’s feelings to be accommodated when using the app, that there was plenty of information regarding volunteering, plenty of insight into the company, quick responses that didn’t get lost, and even a means of helping the user decide what kind of volunteer work is best suited for their needs through the series of questions the user can answer. I made a rough wireframe of what this could look like and jumped into Figma to build it out.
