Concept:This project involved choosing any object that holds meaning (which could in theory be anything), then deconstructing the meaning in every possible way. The obvious pick for me was my glasses. They’re the reason I can see, how much more meaningful could they get? From there, I had a photoshoot with my glasses, considering denotative and connotative ways I could capture my glasses on camera. I added phrases to the images that reflected and played with the denotations and connotations my glasses had.
id needs.
Insights:I learned how semiotics shapes what you make and how crucial it is to communicate your intended meaning, since it could make sense for the design but it may be seen in the opposite way to someone else viewing it.
